Visiting the Bronx Zoo
When I think of Bronx, New York, I think of Yankee Stadium. Now, since we’ve had the pleasure of visiting, I will now think of the Bronx Zoo! There is so much to love about this iconic urban oasis. On your next trip to New York City, add this awesome zoo to your itinerary. Here’s why you should visit Bronx Zoo.
4-D Double Feature
Each film in this daily double feature lasts for approximately 14 minutes. Shows run every 15 minutes throughout the day. This was so much fun for my two and six year olds, and I was completely shocked by how awesome the shows were from start to finish! The 4-D effects made it worth the wait in line. Plus, the 3-D glasses were pretty cool. There is an extra cost for the double feature on top of regular admission, but it is included in the Total Experience ticket.
Wild Asia Monorail
Our timing was impeccable when we hopped on this tram. My toddler was tired of walking but didn’t want to get in the stroller. (Go figure!) On the monorail, you get to just sit back and relax as you travel above mud wallows and pastures, forests and riverbanks similar to those in Wild Asia. It’s a guided tour, and your guide will help you spot a wide array of animals along the way, including tigers, elephants, and rhinos, even if you don’t have your binoculars!
This was spectacular! The entertainment varies with the season, and our most reason visit was amazing. Perfect weather and our magician was very engaging. A great part of the zoo and it’s FREE!
World of Birds
We had no idea there were so many amazing and BEAUTIFUL birds! There were many birds from all over the world, all in one place, and they left us awe of their natural beauty and flawless and colorful feathers. From “different looking” hornbills to charismatic toucans, this exhibit did not disappoint!
