SummerBlast! at Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek

If you and your family are looking for fun in Orlando this summer, Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek has got you covered with some of the best summertime family fun in Orlando. SummerBlast!, their 101 days of summer celebration, is jam packed with activities that everyone will enjoy. My family and I recently took advantage of this great offer and spent the weekend frolicking in summertime fun.

Surrounded by the Walt Disney World Resort property, Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek offers free shuttles to and from the theme parks, but the resort has a plethora of summer activities capable of keeping an active family completely entertained. My family and I only ventured off-property once over the entire weekend, and we were never at a loss for things to do…and we never had to wait in any lines! Listed below are just a few of the reasons I think you and your family will really love this resort, too.

SummerBlast! Pool Activities
Every day the resort’s recreation team has scheduled poolside activities to help keep your kids entertained, just in case they aren’t having enough fun in the three-acre Florida-style lagoon, complete with a zero entry area, a twisty waterslide, and a flowing lazy river where all types of floats are encouraged. Some of our favorite poolside activities included H2O Pac Man, candy bingo, pool relay games and the Friday and Saturday night Dive-In Movies.

We also loved that Saturday’s poolside bliss included a SummerBlast! Pool Party complete with a DJ pumping out awesome tunes, poolside games with special prizes and a super-fun Ducktona 500 duck race where you get to “adopt” a rubber duck and cheer him on as he races other ducks around the lazy river. The winner of the race during our stay received a return weekend stay at the resort! Now, that’s what I call a prize!

Other Resort Activity Options
In case you don’t already know, Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek Resort happens to be connected to Waldorf Astoria Orlando. (Right now I’m sure you’re asking, “What does this mean for me?”) This means you are also invited to use almost all of the excellent amenities at the Waldorf and take part in their “Enchanted Evenings” summertime activities, too. Score! This option helped us to have even more fun as we took a swim in their pool and played poolside yard games like giant-sized Jenga and chess. We also had a blast playing family games of corn-hole, riding the Surrey-bikes around and taking part in the s’more making offered there.

The Waldorf also has a family golf offer where junior golfers can play for $25 with a paying adult and play from special tees that are between 100-200 yards long. Oh, and I almost forgot, this amenity sharing also entitled the “mama and papa bear” to enjoy Spa Happy Hour where we were invited to extend our bliss with complimentary champagne and chocolate in the spa lounge. Excellent!

The Endless Food Options
I don’t know about you, but as a mother, one of my very favorite parts of vacation means that I don’t have to cook or clean-up anything. I also love the fact that everyone, including my very picky eater, can get just about anything they want to eat and there will be no complaining.

Let me just say, the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek restaurants, along with Waldorf Astoria Orlando, know how to deliver when it comes to excellent eats. The two properties offer two fine dining restaurants (one called La Luce which is a perfect family option) and eight casual restaurants — two of which are poolside, some of which are considered bars/lounges and most of which offer adult beverages. There is also a hip coffee bar that stays open 24 hours a day where you can find fresh pastries, garden salads, sandwiches, snacks, and hand-dipped ice cream, too.

Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek’s celebration of summer also offers other fun options like happy hour specials and weekend ice cream socials that take place poolside. Then, there are other special events at the Waldorf Astoria. At the Waldorf, you can find the Friday night Weird Science Ice Cream Social, where mad scientists use liquid nitrogen to whip up a magical ice cream concoctions, and the weekend night indulgent Bar du Chocolat that offers a delightful selection of decadent a la carte homemade treats from the Waldorf Astoria pastry team.

I hope this gave you a taste of all the family fun we experienced at Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek during their special SummerBlast! event and that you are thinking about how you can squeeze this sunshine into your family’s summer too. I’d love to hear about your experiences and about anything we may have missed during our fabulous weekend. Do tell!
