Sneak Away to Clearwater for a Relaxing Weekend
Clearwater, Florida is a great place for a weekend getaway with its white sandy beaches, dolphins, and baseball. But that’s not all Clearwater has to offer, hidden away are some great ways to unwind and let go of everyday stress.
While it is ranked the #1 beach in the country, Clearwater Beach can be crowded, especially during the spring season. If you’re looking for a more relaxing beach experience, head south of Clearwater Beach to Sand Key Park. Sand Key Park has a large beach area, a boardwalk, and a nature trail as well. It is common to spot native birds like great horned owls, heron, and roseate spoonbill along the trail. Parking is just $5 for the entire day and guests can rent umbrellas, cabanas, kayaks, and bicycles here as well.
If you’re looking for restaurants in Clearwater, FL, visit the Wildflower Cafe. If the weather is nice, definitely try to sit outside under the oak trees. Pair the homemade strawberry lemonade with their house made Deep Dish Quiche for a refreshing yet filling lunch. The quiche is made daily so you’ll have to check with your server for the flavor of the day, but it is sure to be delicious!
You’ve probably seen Ashiatsu, otherwise known as barefoot massage, on TV or in the movies. But have never experienced it yourself? We are lucky enough to have incredible massage therapists in Clearwater that specialize in a barefoot massage at The Elm Massage and Bodywork. It’s truly unlike any other massage experience you’ve had before. Ashiatsu uses deep compressive strokes and provides a broad blanket of pressure that you wouldn’t get from a traditional massage therapist without a lot of painful poking. The therapists can tailor the massage to your specific needs, make it truly effective for everyone. They even have a prenatal option too!
The Temple Float Spa will allow you to relax and have a carefree day. Granted, you will have to get past the fact that you are floating in what looks like a small space ship! The salt solution that you are floating in has a very high salinity, which basically means that you are extremely buoyant. It gives you a feeling of complete weightlessness. Combined with the option to turn off the lights and music in the pod, it allows you to truly relax and shut off your mind. In addition to a feeling of relaxation, floatation therapy has been shown to increase blood flow (which can aid in recovery from an injury or high activity exercise), assist with pain management and can increase immune system functioning.
Explore the Outdoors
