Off-site vs. On-Site at Disney – Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista offers the best of both!

There are so many choices of places to stay when visiting Walt Disney World. There is also the great debate of staying off-site or on-site at the Disney World properties. Both options have their advantages and disadvantages. On a recent trip to Orlando, our family found the best of both worlds at Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista.

I love Disney, but sometimes it’s nice to escape the magic for a bit. My husband and I breathed a sigh of relief when we walked through the front doors. Parents are treated to upscale amenities and accommodations when staying at Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista. The high cost of staying on-site at Disney World Resorts is one reason many families choose to stay off-site. When my family visited, the price of a standard room at Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista was less than the cost of a standard room at a Disney Value Resort.

Here’s how this unique Lake Buena Vista hotel provides the best benefits of staying both off-site and on-property at the Walt Disney Resort.

Lake Buena Vista Location Across from Downtown Disney
One of the best aspects of Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista is that it is located directly across the street from Downtown Disney. We arrived, dropped off our bags in our room and were enjoying dinner at Earl of Sandwich in a matter of minutes. Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista is close to all of the Disney theme parks.

Disney Extra Magic Hours
Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista guests receive privileges to Disney’s best benefit, Extra Magic Hours. Guests receive early entry or extended evening hours at designated Disney World theme parks. This benefit is usually reserved for guests of Walt Disney World Resorts and is a unique feature of this Lake Buena Vista hotel.

Disney Transportation and Other Options
Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista offers free transportation to all of the Disney theme parks. Buses depart every 30 minutes beginning one hour prior to park opening time to Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot and Hollywood Studios. The shuttle to Downtown Disney begins at 6 pm and runs every 30 minutes until 3 am. Transportation to the Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon water parks is also available seasonally when the parks are open.

There is also an Avis car rental desk on-site, which is a convenient plus if you plan to visit any other Orlando attractions. My family used Avis for a one way rental from the airport and also to drive to another nearby Orlando attraction, Discovery Cove.

Disney Character Breakfast
When that Disney magic is needed, Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista hosts a Disney character breakfast every Sunday at the onsite Covington Mill Restaurant. Disney theme park tickets and merchandise are also available at the hotel.

Other Amenities
I loved that Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista also has its own 24-hour market. The market has snacks, drinks, prepared meals as well as ice cream. Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista has so many advantages and is a great choice for a family trip to Orlando.
