Great Family Friendly Hotel in Fort Lauderdale

If you think of Fort Lauderdale as an adults-only destination, please reconsider! We recently enjoyed a fun family vacation there over Spring Break, and picking the right hotel is key to having a good family experience. We found Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort to be an excellent choice for a family friendly hotel in Fort Lauderdale for the following reasons:

Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort is located in a prime spot on N. Fort Lauderdale Beach Boulevard with gorgeous views of the ocean. As with all hotels on this street, the hotel is located across the street from the beach but offers easy access. There are numerous stores and restaurants nearby, and Las Olas, the main shopping and dining boulevard, is only a mile away.

Hotel Rooms
We stayed in a one bedroom studio with two queen beds and found the room to be very comfortable for a family of four. The bathroom had marble tile and plenty of space.  The balcony had a table and chairs and an amazing view of the ocean. As a bonus, the room had one of our favorite features, a small kitchenette. Having a refrigerator, sink and microwave is so nice when you are traveling for more than a few days. The suites in the hotel have even more room and a full sized kitchen.

The pool had lounge chairs, umbrellas and two hot tubs
We enjoyed the heated pool, hot tub, and numerous lounge chairs.

As with most Fort Lauderdale hotels, the pool was located on an upper floor. At Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort, it’s on the 6th floor, offering an unobstructed view of the ocean. The kids enjoyed the large heated pool and hot tub, and we all relaxed on lounge chairs set up with towels for us by the pool staff. We saw many other families at the pool, but there was a separate sun deck that seemed to be mostly adults.

Hotel Restaurants
We enjoyed both breakfast and dinner at the hotel’s restaurant Ilios and we were pleased with the service and variety of items on the children’s menu. My 9-year old loved having filet mignon from the kid’s menu; although they also had traditional items such as hamburgers and chicken fingers. We also appreciated Le Marche, the gourmet market on the first floor where we bought breakfast several mornings. They serve lunch items and ice cream later in the day. Gym and Spa
The hotel has a particularly nice gym with Precor equipment that I used several times.  There is also a spa on-site which would be a wonderful treat while on vacation. Check out the SpaQ Menu.

If you are traveling to Fort Lauderdale with your family, be sure to look at Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort—it’s one of the best family friendly hotels in Fort Lauderdale!
