Family Fun in West Palm Beach, Florida
West Palm Beach is a great place for adults to visit. There is almost everything one could want. There are pristine beaches, challenging golf courses, great shopping and more. Yet, you probably find you need different activities when you are on vacation with your kids. Where can you find the fun? The animals? The spectacle? The amazing?
Some parents might avoid West Palm Beach because there is no obvious draw. But families looking for something fun and different in Florida will certainly enjoy my top 4 places to visit with your kids in West Palm Beach, Florida.
4 Fun Things to do in West Palm Beach, Florida with Kids
1. Lighthouse Cove Adventure Golf
If you absolutely need to play golf but still want to have fun with the kids, why not try playing some amazing mini golf? Located right near West Palm Beach in Jupiter, Florida, Lighthouse Cove has every thing you need to spend an entire afternoon.
Once you’ve finished your 18 holes, you can enjoy some great food at the Burger Shack and ice cream at 3Scoops, as well. The holes are ridiculously fun with interesting water hazards, which make them challenging for even experienced golfers but still fun for all levels.
2. McCarthy’s Wildlife Sanctuary
Not all of the attractions in West Palm Beach are man-made. West Palm Beach is surrounded by marshlands and a number of sanctuaries that protect the fragile ecosystems contained within. One of the most interesting to visit is McCarthy’s Wildlife Sanctuary.
Almost all of the animals at the sanctuary were rescued from dangerous or illegal situations, and proceeds from tours go to the maintenance and care of the animals at the sanctuary. I would recommend doing the guided tour, which takes small groups throughout the sanctuary and cost $35 for adults and $25 for kids. The tour includes very close up encounters with the animals, resulting in some amazing pictures and memories.
3. Diva Duck Amphibious Tours
If you are looking for a one-of-a-kind experience, try out the Diva Duck Amphibious Tours ($29 for adults, $15 for youth, $5 for kids). We loved the Duck Tours of Boston, and this is a similar experience where you can learn about the history of the Palm Beach area. Once you enter the harbor, you are treated to amazing views of the lovely homes, as well as sea life like dolphins and manatees.
4. Peanut Island
For those of you that would like to experience one of the fun things to do in West Palm Beach, FL that doesn’t tug on your purse strings, I recommend Peanut Island. Peanut Island is a small man-made island off the coast of Florida between Singer Island and West Palm Beach. The island offers plenty of fun for everyone, including camping, fishing and snorkeling.
If you are a history buff, you can also visit the nuclear bunker built for President John F. Kennedy during the Cold War. The bunker is still maintained and tours are available as well.
After a day of family fun, enjoy the accommodations and resort-style pool at the beautiful Hilton West Palm Beach, just minutes from all of these family attractions in West Palm Beach, FL.
