4 Ways to Celebrate Valentine’s Day in Philadelphia
Love is in the air this weekend and why not celebrate in Philadelphia, the City of Brotherly Love? Here are my top 4 date ideas (outside of fine dining) that showcase the special kind of love and romance that only Philadelphia can offer.
For an all-day affair take a self-guided art walk starting at Philadelphia’s LOVE Park where you can smooch in front of Robert Indiana’s LOVE sculpture. Then visit over 60 outdoor sculptures with the help of the free Museum Without Walls™: AUDIO website to find out about the beauty within Philadelphia.
If you are limited on time but still want an art date, visit Philly Magic Gardens by Isaiah Zagar where you can view the unique mosaics, make valentines and get a bite to eat nearby at a local restaurant.
A Romantic Ride
Private evening tours are a perfect opportunity to see Philadelphia under the stars, especially by a horse-drawn carriage. The Philadelphia Carriage Company offers historical tours of Liberty Bell and other iconic Philadelphia attractions.
Watch New Acts
Philadelphia has a growing theater scene with dramatic to comedic events so why not catch a new act over Valentine’s Day weekend? Some of my favorites include shows featuring The Beatles or Beethoven at the Kimmel Center, Der Rosenkavalier at the Prince Theater or ComedySportz: Battle of the Sexes where you can bring your own food and drinks.
Lace up your skates
You and your one and only can skate at the Blue Cross Riverrink Winterfest at Penn’s Landing with only a $3 admission and $10 skate rental. Afterwards enjoy some hot chocolate or your favorite local adult beverage at the lodge or fire pit. Or, take advantage of Sweetheart Skates where your $25 ticket includes skating, chocolates, a photo booth, flowers and music.
Do you need lessons before you hit the ice? Rothman Ice Rink offers Learn to Skate sessions, as well as a Valentine’s Day Sweetheart Skate for $20 a person with hot chocolate, flowers and romance.
A variety of romantic experiences are available all weekend long in the City of Brotherly Love especially in Center City, which is just a romantic stroll or a ride away from Hilton Philadelphia at Penn’s Landing.
