Where to Eat in Orlando Like a Local

Where to Eat in Orlando Like a Local

  • Ravioli at La Luce Orlando

  • Wines at La Luce Orlando

  • Hilton Orlando

As many of us know, sometimes it’s hard to find a place to eat and simultaneously think where to explore next! In Orlando’s dining scene, there are many gems hidden in plain sight. To help avoid letting your hunger cloud your vision, here are my top 5 dining and local foodie events I recommend visiting based on my own experiences.

  1. La Luce

La Luce is not only an amazing Italian restaurant with a variety of options, but is also a feast for the eyes. Every so often the restaurant will have an artist come in and transform the chalk wall! The wall gets erased, and a completely new piece of chalk artwork is designed right before your very eyes. La Luce is located near Walt Disney World in the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek. Reservations are recommended.

  1. Loving Hut

Loving Hut is Orlando’s choice for delicious, Oriental inspired vegan options. It is a small family owned restaurant decorated with positive quotes. They believe you should feel positive while dining with a variety of vegan meals.

  1. Bar Harbor Seafood

Bar Harbor Seafood is not only a location with fantastic lunch options, but it is also a retail market for fish, crab, and other sea life caught fresh. Bar Harbor is also the main distributor of seafood to restaurants across central Florida. They have a constantly changing menu featuring fresh lobster, tuna, and salmon to choose from.

Looking for something besides a traditional sit-down dining option? Orlando has numerous events, two of my favorites specifically featuring food trucks! I highly recommend trying the food trucks if you’re looking to experience Orlando like a local.

  1. Tasty Tuesdays in the Milk District

Every Tuesday in downtown Orlando, locals and visitors can enjoy fantastic food trucks with cuisine ranging from Vegan to Korean foods and more! I recommend Leguminatti for Vegan based foods. My personal favorite from their menu is the Crunchwrap sliders (inspired by Taco Bell). For Korean food, I recommend the KBBQ Box. Keep up with their events and vendors here.

  1. Food Truck Fridays at the Artegon

Once a month, on the last Friday at the Artegon on International Drive, you can experience an array of foods all in one place. Taste everything from German foods, to cheesecakes, to fresh crabs and more! Local artists are also a frequent treat. Check out who will be attending and when here.
