Getting to Gozo:

You can easily reach Gozo by taking a bus to Cirkewwa. Once reaching Cirkewwa, catch the ferry over to Gozo. It is about 25 minutes on the ferry ride, with the ferries running every hour or so.

I’m Here! Now What?

Once in Gozo, the best option to making sure you see all of the historical sites and attractions is to buy a day ticket for the hop-on-hop-off bus. This will provide the most convenient access around the Island.

The Must-See’s:

The definite must see’s in Gozo are the Azure Window as well as Citadella in the capital city of Rabat. Here you must also have a traditional platter for lunch! These traditional platters include several favourites, such as the Ftira (local bread), ġbejna (cheeselet), sundried tomatoes and Bigilla (bean dip) with galletti (water crackers).

Places with Spectacular Views:

  • With several historical sites, forts and beautiful views, one must visit the best-preserved prehistoric temples of Ġgantija.
  • The villages and secluded beaches of Marsalforn, Xlendi and Mgarr ix-Xini are stunning! Mgarr ix-Xini is said to be one of the most secluded beaches in Gozo with incredible marine life. These areas are also where Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have just filmed their latest movie.

For the Adventurer:

If you are an adventure seeker, there are plenty of activities for you here! From quad bike tours, some of the best dive sites in the world, horseback riding, to exploring the countryside by foot – Gozo is sure to please couples and families alike!

And last, but certainly not least – one can also discover Gozo’s beautiful beaches. Ramla l-Hamra, which is famous for its’ red sand (or San Blas), is a popular favourite!

Where to Stay:

  • The Hilton Malta: located in the St Julian’s, this property is conveniently situated 15 minutes from the capital Valletta, 20 minutes from the airport.  Did we mention there are 5 pools on the property in addition to the Mediterranean Sea views and award winning Portomaso yacht marina views?
  • San Lawrenz Kempinski or Ta Cenc Gozo are also great properties, conveniently located on the island of Gozo. While a visit to Gozo is typically a daytrip, staying nearby allows you to skip the bus and the ferry ride to further explore.
